倒水的学问徐梦桃的物品励志故事

大学毕业后好几个月，我一直都在人才市场不停地奔波着，希望能够找到一个适合自己的职位。那天，我看到国内一家着名的民营企业招聘一位秘书，因为待遇非常优厚，吸引了许多像我一样刚毕业的大学生。很幸运，我在几百名应聘的大学生中成为被公司通知面试的二十个人之一。

虽然已被通知面试，但我很清楚将去公司面试的这二十个人，谁都比我更为优秀，而招聘的秘书职位只有一个，我会笑到最后吗？心里可真是一点把握也没有。

到公司面试那天上午，我早早就来到了公司总经理办公室外等待面试。我以为自己来得早，可别人比我来得更早，大家都希望得到这个令人羡慕的职位，但也都像我一样表情掩饰不住内心的忐忑不安。

轮到我进去面试的时候，看见总经理威严而沉稳地坐在对面，我反倒冷静了许多，对总经理提出的几个面试问题，我也是对答如流。渐渐地，我欣喜地注意到，严肃的总经理脸上露出了满意의笑容。最后他轻松地说：“谢谢你，你回答得非常好，如果我们录用你会电话通知你。请帮我倒杯水来好吗？”

I walked to the water dispenser on the wall, took out two paper cups because I noticed an old man sitting on a sofa in the corner of the office, reading a newspaper. I thought that while giving water to the manager, I should also give one to him - it was something a secretary would do. So I did it and gave one cup of water to the manager and another cup to that old man saying "You're welcome" with a smile.

Two days later, when I received a call from the company informing me that they had decided to hire me as their secretary, my heart almost stopped. The truth was revealed when I went straight from this interview room into another room where our CEO sat behind his desk. He welcomed me warmly and said: "Congratulations! You have been selected for this position."

As it turned out, giving someone water was not just about serving them but also showing respect for others around you. It's not just about what you do but how you do it - with kindness or without notice.

And so began my journey as a secretary at this prestigious company which became more than just an ordinary job because of people like Xu Mengtao who showed us through her actions what truly matters in life: empathy and compassion towards all human beings regardless of their status or power.
